2021 Workshop on Algorithm and Big Data
The spring edition, 2021 Workshop on Algorithm and Big Data, will be held on March 14 in ZOOM. The concept of an algorithm and algorithmic thinking are not only for software system, but also relevant to all sciences and fields of human endeavour. And in the era of data, challenges and opportunities brought by big data are outstanding.
The workshop will provide the platform for researchers and practitioners to discuss on Algorithm and Big Data. Meanwhile, the authors of accepted submissions are invited to present their works. The best presenters will be awarded.
Prof. Abdelhalim Zekry
Abdelhalim Zekry is a professor of electronics at faculty of Engineering, Ain Shams University, Egypt. He worked as a staff member on several universities. He published more than 300 papers. He also supervised more than 110 Master thesis and 40 Doctorate . Prof. Zekry focuses his research programs on the field of microelectronics and electronic applications including communications and photovoltaics. He got several prizes for his outstanding research and teaching performance.
Dr. Anand Nayyar
Dr. Anand Nayyar received Ph.D (Computer Science) from Desh Bhagat University in 2017 in the area of Wireless Sensor Networks and Swarm Intelligence. He is currently working in Graduate School, Duy Tan University, Da Nang, Vietnam. A Certified Professional with 75+ Professional certificates from CISCO, Microsoft, Oracle, Google, Beingcert, EXIN, GAQM, Cyberoam and many more. Published more than 450 Research Papers in various National & International Conferences, International Journals (Scopus/SCI/SCIE/SSCI Indexed) with High Impact Factor. Member of more than 50+ Associations as Senior and Life Member and also acting as ACM Distinguished Speaker. He has authored/co-authored cum Edited 25+ Books of Computer Science.

Wang Xingyuan, second-level professor of computer science, School of Information Science and Technology, Dalian Maritime University, doctoral supervisor, Liaoning distinguished professor, American Mathematical Reviews commentator, outstanding scientific and technological workers in Liaoning Province, outstanding scientific and technological talents in universities of Liaoning Province, the fifth and sixth group of outstanding experts in Dalian, deputy director of the Chaotic Secure Communication Professional Committee of the Chinese Cryptography Society, and deputy director of the Chaotic and Nonlinear Circuit Professional Committee of the Circuit and System Branch of the Chinese Institute of Electronics. I won 1 first prize of Natural Science of Liaoning Province (the only person to complete), and 1 second prize of Natural Science of the Ministry of Education (the first person to complete); I have instructed 32 PhD graduates in total, and more than 10 people won the National Natural Science General/Youth Funded, 9 people were promoted to professors. The course I taught was awarded the 2013-2016 ‘Liaoning Province Graduate Excellent Courses’ twice in a row.

Dr. Huiyu Zhou received a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Radio Technology from Huazhong University of Science and Technology of China, and a Master of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering from University of Dundee of United Kingdom, respectively. He was awarded a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Computer Vision from Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, United Kingdom. Dr. Zhou currently is a Professor at School of Informatics, University of Leicester, United Kingdom. He has published over 300 peer-reviewed papers in the field. He was the recipient of "CVIU 2012 Most Cited Paper Award", “MIUA 2020 Best Paper Award”, “ICPRAM 2016 Best Paper Award” and was nominated for “ICPRAM 2017 Best Student Paper Award” and "MBEC 2006 Nightingale Prize". Dr. Zhou serves as the Editor-in-Chief of Recent Advances in Electrical & Electronic Engineering and Associate Editor of "IEEE Transaction on Human-Machine Systems", “IEEE Journal of Biomedical and Health Informatics”, “Pattern Recognition”, “PeerJ Computer Science” and “IEEE Access”, and Area Chair of IJCAI and BMVC. As one of the most important products of high-tech era, big data remains tremendous energy, which can be applicable in various fields with the help of development of algorithm. We welcome state-of-art discussions and findings home and abroad about the combination of big data and algorithm, to be presented in this workshop. The application of big data and the breakthrough of algorithm can provide abundant cases and new ideas for researchers and scholars in the field of not only computing and mathematics, but also medical science, geology and many other topics.
